Windows Installation

Learn how to install Cliqer on your Windows computer.

Setting up Cliqer on Windows is straightforward:

  1. Download Cliqer:
    • Go to the download page — it detects your system automatically and offers the right installer for your architecture (x64 or ARM64).
    • Two formats are available:
      • .msi (recommended) — Windows Installer package, also the right choice for IT departments deploying via Group Policy / Intune.
      • -setup.exe — classic setup wizard. It also installs the WebView2 runtime automatically if your machine doesn't have it.
    • All installers are code-signed, so SmartScreen recognises the publisher.
  2. Run Installer:
    • Open the downloaded installer file.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation. Cliqer requests administrator privileges — these are required for its deep presentation-software integration and device features.
  3. Firewall Permissions:
    • Windows Defender Firewall might ask for permission for Cliqer to communicate on your network. Ensure you Allow access, especially for private networks. This is essential for Cliqer to connect with remote devices.
    • If you use a third-party firewall, you may need to manually add an exception for Cliqer.
  4. (Optional) Restart:
    • As with macOS, if you encounter issues:
      • Quit Cliqer.
      • Quit your presentation software.
      • Relaunch Cliqer and then your presentation software.
ARM64 (Snapdragon) devices: Cliqer ships a native ARM64 build — no emulation needed. The only exception is NDI output, which requires the x64 build (NDI's libraries are x64-only).

Updating

Cliqer checks for updates on launch and updates itself in place, regardless of which installer format you used.

Troubleshooting Windows Installation

  • Antivirus Software: Temporarily disable your antivirus software to see if it's interfering with Cliqer's operation or installation. If it is, add Cliqer to your antivirus's exception list.
  • WebView2 Runtime: Cliqer's interface runs on Microsoft Edge WebView2. Windows 11 and up-to-date Windows 10 systems ship it; the -setup.exe installs it automatically if missing. For .msi deployments on older fleets, preinstall the WebView2 Evergreen runtime.
  • Contact Support: For persistent issues, use the live chat on the Cliqer website.

With Cliqer installed for Windows, you might also need to install it on other systems, or you can proceed to using the application.
